登天后宫422起庆宝诞‧64渔船护送妈祖巡幸

登嘉楼海南会馆天后宫主办的妈祖海陆巡幸活动今年进入第五年，会馆今年更有所突破，以最高规格的64艘渔船组成船队护送妈祖金身出海，预料超过500名善信将前来参与其盛。

筹委会主席祝铭诚在新闻发布会上指出，2016年第五届妈祖海陆巡幸暨1056千秋宝诞的活动将从4月22日开始至29日，打头阵的活动就是22日的妈祖海陆巡幸。

他说，会馆每年举办妈祖海陆巡幸都会寻求突破，因此今年决定以最高规格形式进行这项活动，以64艘渔船组成船队陪同妈祖金身出巡。

料吸引逾500善信参与

他指出，届时部分渔船将有鼓队随行，然后跟着四五艘载着妈祖金身和善信的小型渡轮出海，让妈祖金身热热闹闹出巡。

他指出，会馆已致函全马各属会，除了邀请他们出席参与，也欢迎他们带着妈祖金身前来参与出巡。

“我们预料会有超过500人出席参与，加上64艘渔船组成的船队，今年妈祖海陆巡幸的规模肯定会比往年盛大。”

4月22天后宫集合

他说，善信将在4月22日（星期五）中午1时到天后宫集合，然后下午2时30分乘搭小型渡轮出海，之后在莎万达广场的码头下船，再进行陆巡回到天后宫。

他指出，有意参与妈祖海陆巡幸的善信即日起可以联络秘书处09-622 1336报名，谢绝12岁以下的儿童参与，长者则需有人陪同，报名截至日期4月10日，报名免费。

4月23至29日
系列活动宣传天后宫

祝铭诚说，4月23至29日也有一系列活动将在天后宫举行，希望通过这些活动宣传天后宫，吸引更多人前来天后宫观光。

免费提供流水斋菜

“这些年我们积极提升天后宫，希望把天后宫打造成为旅游景点，所以借此次活动让更多人认识天后宫。”

同时，他指出，从4月24至27日，每天傍晚6时至晚上8时，会馆将在天后宫免费提供流水斋菜给民众，民众享用斋菜后，可以留下来参与每天晚上进行的活动。

今日出席新闻发布会的包括名誉会长黄顺庄、会长邢福川、署理会长陈颖清、董事林猷兴、妇女团团长黄秀凤、副团长林玉萌、财政黄玉蝉及公关李毖毓。

登土生华人文化节5月引爆‧目标要破15万人次

今年进入第三年的登嘉楼土生华人文化旅游节将在5月27日至6月3日在唐人坡隆重举行，承办的登嘉楼中华总商会精益求精，在节目内容上做出调整，以吸引更多人潮。

登嘉楼中华总商会会长刘保章指出，去年的登嘉楼土生华人文化旅游节吸引超过10万人次​​出席参与，今年登中总希望参观人数可以突破15万人次。

新增花灯展览幸运抽奖

他说，登中总检讨过去2年的活动后，决定今年在节目上做出调整，取消需要较多经费的活动，例如舞台表演，而是丰富市集活动、增加街头表演，还有2项新增环节，即花灯展览及幸运抽奖。

他指出，去年的市集共有约50个摊位，今年希望达到80个摊位的目标，以让市集更多元化。

为街头艺人提供平台

“我们也籍此机会为街头艺人提供一个展现才华的表演平台，欢迎他们联络我们，参与我们的活动。”

他是今日在新闻发布会上发表谈话时如此表示。出席的包括署理会长祝铭诚、筹委会主席黄畋强及成员刘少雄。

他说，登中总希望每年的活动可以拥有新的元素，因此今年引进花灯进行展览，让出席活动的民众及游客可以和不同造型的花灯拍照。

幸运抽奖奖品总值8万

此外，他指出，今年也增设幸运抽奖，奖品总值8万令吉，大奖是一辆崭新轿车，其他奖品包括电器及电子产品等。

“我们将寻求唐人坡、甘榜忠及孟莪路商家的合作，以便民众上门消费时，可以获得幸运抽奖的抽奖券，我们之后在9月公布成绩。”

同时，他说，登中总与旅行社合作，希望他们配合这项活动的举行，带游客前往参观，同时也会准备巴士免费载送登嘉楼马来西亚大学及苏丹再纳阿比丁大学的学生到活动现场。

他希望通过举办这次活动，能再一次推介唐人坡旅游卖点，让更多旅客留驻瓜登，进而开拓商机，协助带动瓜登地方经济发展。

特产小面包
游子回乡必吃早餐

在瓜登提到早餐，很多人就会想到专属瓜登特产的小面包，不只本地人、游客爱吃，更是游子从外地回来必吃的早餐，魅力无法挡。

唐人坡许多茶室都有卖小面包，4粒或6粒一组的小面包​​上桌前烘烤加热，客人之后在面包的中间抹上冷冻牛油及加椰（Kaya）就可以享用了。

这样一份简单的早餐是游子想念家乡的其中一个原因，游子每次回来瓜登一定会叫一份解馋。

1天可卖出100份

桥头咖啡室业者许达哲指出，平时每天平均卖出40份6粒一组的小面包​​，可是遇到佳节庆典游子回乡，小面包就十分热卖，1天可以卖出100份。

他说，只有在瓜登可以吃到小面包，不说外州，就连州内其他县也很难吃到小面包，所以小面包可以堪称是瓜登独一无二、最受欢迎的早餐。

Sultan Mizan declares 2017 as Visit Terengganu Year

The Sultan of Terengganu Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin yesterday expressed the need for tourism activities to be monitored so that the natural beauty of islands in the state can be sustained and preserved as a heritage.

He said efforts to monitor, preserve and maintain the natural beauty of the islands should be enhanced for the benefit of future generations.

With 2017 to be declared Visit Terengganu Year, the sultan said he hoped the state government would enhance efforts to improve the state's tourism products and further promote them towards making Terengganu the main destination for tourists.

"The contribution of the tourism sector to the state's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) can be further enhanced because of its huge potential, not only as a catalyst to the state's economy, but also to generate income for the people.

"The declaration of Setiu Wetlands as a state park is a positive effort towards making eco-tourism one of the major products in the state tourism industry," he added.

The Sultan was speaking when opening the Fourth Term of the 13th State legislative Assembly at Wisma Darul Iman here today.

The sultan, accompanied by the Sultanah of Terengganu, Sultanah Nur Zahirah, was greeted on arrival by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman and his wife, Toh Puan Seri Halina Zakaria.

The sultan also said he was happy with efforts made by the state government to build and upgrade the rehabilitation centre, and also the haemodialysis centres, in all parliamentary constituencies.

"I am also happy to know on efforts made by the state government to implement a pioneer programme known as 'Healthy Walkable City', which will be the first in the country," he added.

He said the programme, to be implemented with the cooperation of the federal government, would involve the construction of a 400-metre walkway from Pasar Payang to the Kuala Terengganu bus terminal.

"This will indirectly encourage the people to adopt a healthy lifestyle, as well as reduce traffic congestion," he said.

The state government, he said, should also strengthen the agriculture to improve the livelihood of the farming community and expressed his appreciation for several projects that had been implemented, like the Terengganu Melon Manis project and the padi farming project, covering 735 hectares in Kampung Jelapang.

Sultan Mizan also advised all quarters to respect the laws in the country, including the federal and state constitutions and to remain united.
